Words from me...
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 Darrell: This season has been a really emotional one for me. There were times where I was joyful, there were times that I was sad. It was a dream come true for all of us, for we dream of this for a long long time already. We trained really hard to get to where we are, but to me what really matter most isn't the trohpy, but the common experience we share, the great times we had and the fact the the all of us stayed as one team. The trophy is just a recognition for our ability but the really priceless thing is the friendship that we have built throughout our 4 years when we were in CHS floorball. Sometime I just can't help to wonder whether we can stay as close as we were during the season, after the season has ended. Floorball has become part of my life and my passion for this sport is still burning. It had made me into who I am today. If anybody asked me what was my most memorable time in my life, I would say is my chs floorball experience. The buddies I made, the tough PT we had, the fun court training everyone enjoyed, would be etched in my mind forever. Maybe it will fade away slowly, but I'm sure I will never forget the great times we had. It is hard to mention it in this short passage. What some of us went through is merely indescribable. Crenshawn, Derek, Joshua, Jarryl, Ryan, Eugene, Jie Ying, I would like to thank all of you for making wonderful memories with me. My time in CHS would not have been enjoyable without your company. The laughters we shared, the great time we had at Radiers, the silly jokes we made and the uncountable number of outing we had, I truly enjoyed them. Those are like my most happy moments in my life, those days where we will all go out and have all the fun we want. I really miss those days... It is no wonder that we can't meet up and have fun as much due to O levels but I hope our friendship will stay forever. To me, the champion trophy is merely a trophy, what I cherish most is the friendship and bonds that I share. Those are the really priceless one. I was reading through my blog post and realised that we indeed used to have so much fun. Of course, the rest of the team, thank you for being such great teammates. I really wasn't a very good captain but you guys did not blame me for my incompetence. I thank you for that and thank you for being such a great friend on and off court. A small segment here dedicated to Mr Han. Thank you for your coaching that has brought me to where I am today. I hope I did not fall to your expectations, i really tried my very best to play and lead to the best of my ability. I really hope that I did not disappoint you. You are a really good coach, the advises you gave me were invualable and under your guidance, I have became a better player. It was a long journey for both you and I, but the journey ended with a happy ending. I'm glad all your hard work paid off. 4 years, I'm sure it wasn't easy. Thank you Mr Han. My gratitude can't be described in merely one paragraph. But no matter what, THANK YOU!!! It is a memory I will keep deep in my heart. Floorball has made me a different person for I meet people that made my secondary school life an undoubtedly enjoyable one. My life would never be the same without you guys (you know who you are) and I'm really grateful to god for blessing me with such great buddies. You know what, if one day we were to really form a league team and given the chance to play together again, I swear, even if I'm in a top team, I WILL join the league team. For what make my heart burning with passion for floorball, is not just the sport, but the people whom I play it with. My dream, is really to be able to play together till we are old and no longer able to walk. I hope our friendship doesn't end here, I really hope to have you guys by my side even when I'm old and weak. I dunno whether you guys feel the same, but I really LOVE you guys. As in not the gay sense, but the brotherly love kinda thing. Haiz, though we sometime quarrel and argue here and there, I hope that we can stay as close as always. Studies are impt for our future is at sake but to me, friendship is priceless. Memories are priceless too. How I wished we captured photos of all the great time we had together. It makes me wanna cry as I think back to those days... As the captain, this blog shall be my last dedication to the team. I hope you guys appreciate it for I spent quite some effort. haha, so gonna cry now... 3 . . . . 2 . . . . 1 . . . . . . . . . . 公教!!!!!!!!! #100 Mr Han
![]() The moment when the final whistle was blew, I'm sure you couldn't believe it yourself. 4 years, you have finally achieved what u set out to do. To most of us, you have spent what seemed to be 1/4 of our lives working on a dream you had. It was a grueling process, having to teach beginners from scratch then slowly helping them to improve through various means but slowly but surely, we have improved and done you proud. It is such an epic story that one could hardly believe. So typical of a fairytale with a happy ending. But it was reality. Without your guidance and coaching, us players will never be the player we are today. If not for floorball, some of us might still be in softball, table tennis or basketball. You gave us this chance to become buddies, to become teammates, to be able to taste glory. My life would never be the same without floorball and you were the one that brought floorball to my life. For that, I really thankful. It is a mystery to us how you were able to coach a champion team from scratch but I'm sure you are clearly aware of the steps and processes we had to go through. No other coach could have possibly done what you have achieved for it is simply amazing. We put in out decent share of hard work but you did yours too. Given the limited amount of players you had, you were able to develop us to our true potential and made the best out of what you had. People said we were lucky to win the championship but if they realised how much we had to go through to be the champs, I think they will change their minds, cose we really went through alot more than the others to become who we are today. Mr Han, thank you for being there when we needed you and thank you for changing our lives. Sec 3s...
I wouldn't write much about you guys as you guys still have one more year to prove your true potential. I hope you had an excellent season just like me and I thank all of you for being such a great teammate. Jie Ying, Jia Li, Jed, Eugene, Jireh, Yu Ren and Sheng Yen. Wish you the best of luck in leading the team to glory next year. Hope you guys can continue to maintain CHS as one of the top floorball schools in Singapore. All the best! #90 Joshua Lee
![]() Joshua role in the team's success is inevitably the greatest, for he lay down the foundation of Line 1. People might watch in awe how Jarryl, Crenshawn and Ryan string up the passes which allowed the dangerous free-flowing play of Line 1, but few have noticed what had enabled the trio to move forward with ease. Joshua has consistently guarded the defence alone in situations of counter-attacks but have never failed to deliver by putting the situation under control through precise positioning and well-timed interceptions. Let's not take credits away also. Joshua has also made fluent play in Line 1 possible, for his distribution has allowed the forwards to receive the ball in open areas, piercing the opponent's defence time to time. Joshua has also made Line 1 an impossibly dangerous line by his unpredictable forward arrays. Such movements has an unimaginable impact which saw Joshua netting the 5cm bouncing ball volley at the edge of the keeper box at the semi-finals against Northland Secondary School. With just 16s left on the clock, Joshua managed to execute his backhand volley, resulting in the winning goal of the match which brought Team CHS to the finals. He did it again in the finals, netting the sixth goal in a similar fashion, which nailed down the game, bringing CHS its maiden title. Always putting his speed to great use, Joshua has blocked countless amount of shots by covering the line of shot of the shooter. Few have managed to dribble past him, and if they did, Joshua's tracking back with hinder them from causing any damage to the defence. As the vice-captain, Joshua has lead the team in the absence of Darrell, putting his leadership qualities to excellent use. Not only that, working hand-in-hand with Darrell, credits must not be stolen from Joshua for he had contributed greatly to the planning and carrying out of the FB camp. A priceless assistant to the leader, for I (Darrell) will never be able to lead like how I always did without Joshua. The discussion and talks we had among ourselves regarding team issues are too many to recall. Joshua is undoubtedly the guy with the most nicknames with the first ever one being over the bar to SK to the back-hand volley king, Joshua has brought smiles to his teammates by their naughty teasing. Always putting on a bright face, always look on the bright side. A.K.A SK (slow king) in the term of reaction, but the direct opposite when it comes to speed. Joshua, we thank you for everything, for it is impossible to mention all you have done for the team, one thing too many, for it is too much to be measured in mere numbers. #32 Nicholas Chee
![]() Always persistently working hard on court, Nicholas have been one of the players which the coach can count on whenever he needs one. He has provided depth in the squad, which is one of the crucial factors in building a strong team. Nicholas possesses excellent marksmanship for he never fails to put the ball in the net when the chance arises. He is clinical, fast and aggressive, possessing the major elements which a forward should have. Few have noticed the amount of hard work Nicholas put into every training but I did. Never wanting to claim any glory, just waiting nonchalantly for which the time arrives when his services are needed, Nicholas's contribution cannot be measured to any other. We thank you for all you have done, for we shall all remember the jersey bearing the #32. # 27 Derek Sng
![]() Probably the strongest in the team, blessed with enormous strength, Derek has put his strength and aggression to great use this season, which saw him shutting down my opponents from scoring by his persistent yet effective defending. One of the secret behind 2011 'B' Division was that the team does not concede too many goals. The average is only 2 per game. As the saying goes, " The defence wins the season." I can't agree more. Instead of just looking at the goalscorers for the team success, one should pay attention to the foundation which construct the a champion team, the defence. Unlike many team's line 2, CHS line 2 have proven to be just as good as any line 1 and much credit have to be given to Derek for his vast and invaluable part in the defence. Never give up, always fighting, that's his attitude. Derek, on behalf of the entire team, we thank you, thank you sincerely for all you have contributed to the team and most importantly, for all the memories that you have etched on our minds... |
