'C' div finals

Darrell:

Went to watch the 'C' div finals today. Bukit Merah won East view 5-1.

Was a rather good game, not a very good one but pretty okay since they are 'C' div only.

Once again, watching the finals and prize presentation got me envious. Really hope to be one of them receiving the prize, better still, be playing in the finals. I swear, the atmosphere, the fans, the cheering, everything was perfect. It's like the dreamland that I always dreamt of when I'm playing floorball in my dreams.

Few things I noted:

- Coach like to instruct the team to pass the ball to their star player and hope that they make magic with it, which they sometime do. I'm pretty upset about this fact. Yes, getting the ball to the star player may be more dangerous and the chances of scoring is also higher,but isn't floorball a team game? Isn't it a game where talents win games and teamwork and intelligence win championships? Since teams, even Bukit Merah, are only playing with 1 player, if we play as a team against them, we might stand a chance...

- Fitness is important. The star player could have remain on court and whack in more goals but due to fitness problems, they can't field that long. Players also tend to lose concentration when they are tired. If we could last longer on court than the opponents, we might stand a chance too...

- Get your shots on target!!! Watch many shots flew over the bar and at the keeper. Kicked the railings till my toes are hurting now. Seriously, there was this guy that slapshot like 8+ time and all were at the keeper or off target. Pls, get it on target if you want to have a chance of scoring... If our shots are superb, we might have a higher chance...

Watching the finals brought me that 'feeling'. I don't know how you describe it, but it's a mixture of jealousy and desire to get into the finals next year. It sort of brings out the temptation to seek revenge to seek justice, by getting the championship next year.

C.H.S Avengers... To beat all teams that we have lost to, to get revenge? Teck whye, East View, VS, Greendale, Northbrook. This few are some teams which we want to prove to them that we can play floorball. Prove them that we are no step-overs, that we aren't the same team they played last time. Show them that we have improved, and that we are better than them.

Currently working on a 'dark horse/revenge' concept. Maybe it can motivate the team and bring that 'fire' out of the players by pushing their desire for some justice to be done... Show to everybody that CHS floorball is something everybody should be scared of...
