Passion, Flare...
Monday, June 28, 2010 Darrell: To me, there are 2 most important things a sportsmen should have in order to excel in his area of sports. Passion and flare. Passion, it determines how much you love the sport and how much effort you will be willing to put in just in order to improve and move on to the next level. A sportsman without the passion for his sport will not go far as he is not eager to play or train. Only people who truly enjoy and love the sport will be willing to train hard and at the same time, enjoy the sport. Flare. Some of us had a discussion on the definition of this word. Ryan believes that it is a kind of attitude, a kind of character, something that keeps a player slightly arrogant and cocky but aids in his performance. Cren and Derek think it is some kind of in-born talent, a kind of ability, the potential to do well. I believe it is a mixture of determination on court, along with the ability to do well when required, the ability to excel in sports. It is something that is inborn, something that keeps a player fighting till the very last minute. I believe it is the kind of fire in a player that will keep him unbeaten, keep him in a state where he only wants to win, at all cost. Passion and flare. Some of us have it and some of us don’t. It’s all inside us. There is no way to develop them or a way to remove them. They are part of us, they are what shape us into the players we have became today. Do you have it? Or do you have either? If you have neither, it should be time you consider whether you should continue playing floorball, cause you might just be wasting time… If you have either or even both, my advice, keep going don’t give up, cose~ you will definitely succeed oneday… Catholites Hwaiting! Wednesday, June 23, 2010 Jarryl: Just a personal opinion. I feel that during a drill like simple dribble, should visualise it inside a game instead of pulling off a perfect shot using a lot of space. Team Dance 2010, Bonamana
Tuesday, June 22, 2010 A new custom will be passed down from this batch onwards... Every year, the captain will decide on a team dance and the team shall all learn and dance it!!! This year round, our mighty captain, Darrell, have decided on Super Junior's Bonamana!! Below are some good video reference I have found. Look closely, cose we will be dancing it!! Relax, all dance step shall be taught by me so no worries, let's do it. Pls don't say NO, give me some support, if even my fellow Sec 3 friends and teammates don't support, I doubt this whole thing will happen. Let's make it happen. It's our year now, don't let this only chance slip away, let's have some fun and bring out a sense of unity and team spirit!!! This is a slightly more relaxed version, probably the kind we will dance. Audio slightly slow too. But its good... Time to wake up...
Monday, June 21, 2010 Joshua: this post will probably sound harsh and arrogant? but i don't really care 'cause I and ppl who truly know me, know tt i'm not. we probably have gone over this topic lots and lots of time(at least among the sec 3s) main topic: (at least) Top 4 for Bdiv floorball 2011 nationals at first i really believed that the sec 2s or at least a majority would be able to improve over time but after what i observed from two incidents last saturday i've given up. 1: when eugene/jed made a mistake(which everyone might make in a game, not just gks) and let in or almost let in a goal, some sec 2s called him robert green and it was loud enough for them to hear it. in nationals are u gonna shout tt for everyone in the court to hear? think abt it...it not only demoralises the keeper and just tells everyone tt our team is not united(at least half is though) and definitely do not deserve to win. 2: when mr han was playing, some sec 2s took the small white board. at first i thought "good, they're gonna think of some plan/plays to try carry out when they're in the game" but instead, they were laughing and joking as they imagined england's line up and possible play on the board. i mean like u're suppose to watch the game and try learn smth from it. so to sum up, i really want to get past the 1st round, the 2nd round etc...but if any1 is going to prevent tt from happening because you're not putting in (enough) effort (especially during trng), i'd rather u not even try to get into the team. sec 2s: as far as i can see, at this rate, only like 4 deserve to be in the team. sec 3s: if u're gonna have the mentality that your shooting/passing/dribbling sucks and let it affect you, you're not only letting urself down, you're letting the whole team and mr han down 'cause we all know tt u're better than tt. and some of you are not even focused in trng. idk whether it's dota or ur personal stuff but once u're on the court u better completely put 100% of ur mind into trng 'cause if u're not gonna to, u nvr will. so please...if u really wanna be in the team, if u really share the same ambition as me, please start focusing, trng properly, running not walking or jogging. and don't just do tt for tmr..do it for EVERY trng and let us work tgth as a team for tt goal we can achieve by just doing the right things. Dance session.
Sunday, June 20, 2010 Darrell: If everything goes well, I will be organising a dance session after this tuesday training!!! Will probably dance 'Sorry Sorry' since it is a good dance to start with. The main aim of the dance, other than having fun, is to build up a sense of unity and a sense of belonging to the team. It will also be a good chance for people that are not in the 'floorball gang', to interact with us and see if they might blend in... Even if you might not like dancing, give me some face pls, just try~ It will be a fun time so no stress people!!! let's do it. Div 1
Tuesday, June 15, 2010 Darrell: Catch a Div 1 match if possible. It's an eye-opener~ haiz
Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Darrell: I haven lose faith in the team yet but the performance they are giving is really making it very difficult for me to believe that we can actually make it to Top 4. It is not impossible, but at this pace, I really think we can't make it. The team thinks that they are strong, they think that they don't have to train that hard. They think that they have Top 4 quality already. They think that getting Top 4 is easy, esp the Sec 2s. C div 2nd round! They think that they are good, walking with their heads up, thinking that they need not train too hard since they are so good~ TRUTH is, at this stage, we will not even be able to qualify for 2nd round. I have seen the material needed to get to Top 4. We are not even a little bit close... We are training as if we are one of the best teams... We are training as if we are champions. Till this point, hardly anyone came to ask me or any of the seniors for advices on how to improve. Only a handful. Jie Ying? Seh Hian? Derek? This goes to show how much some players want to improve. My opinion? A lot of them came to training to PLAY. HELLO!!! Haven Mr Han make it very clear that we are training for Top 4!!! PLAY PLAY PLAY. Only disrupting those who want to train properly. Given individual training? Everybody just shoot at the goalpost aimlessly. Individual training time is given to us to let us work on our weakness and to build up on some of our skills or techniques that might need practise. Don't tell me tht the whole team are weakest in their shooting... And be'cose of everybody shooting, when I want to practise shooting, I don't even have to space to do so... Hopefully Mr Han has everything planned out. Then maybe we will have a chance to get Top 4... Cose there is nothing I can do now. I can only do my best to help those that want to improve, for those that want to slack, I can't care less. Team spirit? Unity? One for all, all for one? Haiz... Top 4 dream
Jarryl here-------- lol seriously, so few people care bout this blog now. Idk, but im just gonna stand in my perspective and make this post. We had a big dream, a top 4 dream. Really, that hot shot scene where the team trained so hard always come to my mind when i think about top 4. But looking at people slacking during just plank alone, i dont know. Physical training? I say we do something way tougher than what we did on saturday. I still believe we can make it to top 4, at least for now. Its only june now. Look at meridian, they are playing in div 3 and they got champions. Honestly, im disappointed with the number of people that took part in the floorball league. Its for exposure, its for experience, its part of the process to winning. But i dont know why, you are way richer than me and yet i can pay for the cost. Its not bout the money for you, its the studies part. Seriously, how well do u want to score in sec 3? Sec 3 results dont matter, like seriously. Except for the o levels stuffs and all. But thats in july. Some said they have no time to spare, needa concentrate on studies. Lol what a joke, please. Next time when you graduate from catholic high, all you will have is just a straight A's cert. Yes, it will help in your future, definitely. But i dont know, it aint that meaningful afterall. Look at fulham, no one has any idea how they got into the finals, beating juventus 4-1 in the second leg?! Thats mad, really. All hope is not lost i think. We need to get darrell's faith back. He has seriously put in too much effort. Actually i have no idea why im writing this. Only those who care visits this blog.. Action speak louder than words...
Tuesday, June 8, 2010 Darrell: If you ask me honestly whether we can make it to Top 4, my answer would be NO. 2nd round? If unlucky, NO as well... Then you people will start telling me that we got Joshua, Jarryl and me... WHAT if we are injured? And what make you believe that we can last throughout the whole game? If we want to get Top 4, the only possible solution is through the 7 (Not mentioning names), then what's the point of registering so many players? We can just do with 7. Yea, the 7-man team. Top 4? Action speak louder than words... |
